Tether and the Republic of Guinea Forge Strategic Blockchain Partnership to Drive Digital Transformation

Tether, the globe's biggest corporate entity in crypto, has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with the Republic of Guinea to explore blockchain and peer-to-peer technologies for economic growth and Africa's digital revolution. The partnership aims to promote innovation, education, and responsible use of digital assets. The MoU elaborates and centers on education, innovation, and sustainable technology practices; and Tether expects this as a means of international knowledge transfer and best practices on how integration of blockchain technologies could be placed within Guinea's economic and technological frameworks. In short, the partnership will emphasize healthy and comprehensive building blocks of sustainable technology across all sections of Guinea, both public and private.

Digital Transformation

Education and Skill Development

The initiative aims to promote blockchain literacy and education in partnership with the City of Science and Innovation of Guinea. According to Tether, they will invest in blockchain education to impart skills on the use of the technology to students, entrepreneurs, and government officials. This collaboration is also part of the country's 'Innovation City' project by creating an enabling environment for technologists, researchers, and entrepreneurs.

Guinea's investment in blockchain infrastructure and innovation hubs is expected to attract and showcase global technology companies and local startups creating a solid ecosystem to nurture blockchain-enabled solutions. Government long-term plans also include this initiative as among the most significant steps to incorporate these emerging technologies into the economy.

Key stakeholders include Tether CEO Paolo Ardoino, Minister Djiba Diakité, Minister of Chief of Staff of the Presidency of the Republic of Guinea, M. Alpha Bacar Barry, Minister of Higher Education, Scientific Research, and Innovation, and Pr Abdoulaye Baniré Diallo, Cité des Sciences et De L’innovation de Guinée (CSIG) Project Coordinator. Arduino opened by declaring their excitement for the partnership...for unlocking the immense potential of blockchain and digital technologies all over Africa.

Diakité noted the importance of the memorandum of understanding, declaring it a major strategic engagement towards inclusive and sustainable digital transformation. He also mentioned the educational dimension of the initiative: It will allow Guinea to strengthen its educational and scientific infrastructures while equipping its youth to face global challenges and seize opportunities of the global digital transformation. Diallo highlighted blockchain integration, during the signing of this MoU: "will accelerate the integration of Blockchain technologies and Peer to Peer an ecosystem interface into the core of the educational and technological ecosystem."

MoU was signed between Tether and the Republic of Guinea to promote responsible blockchain adoption. From Tether's perspective, the company is focused on transferring blockchain technologies as a mechanism for empowering businesses and creating avenues for digital inclusion. This memorandum of understanding will set the stage for Guinea-minded technology and economic prosperity. This collaboration will boost the economy of Guinea, promote the use of blockchain, and stand as an example for other countries in Africa.
