Oji India Packaging Pvt Ltd, a leading global player in paper products, has officially inaugurated its fifth manufacturing site in Sri City, Andhra Pradesh. The facility, touted to be 43,000 square meters in area, is considered one of the largest corrugated packaging plants in South Asia. It forms part of the strategic expansion by Oji India in the packaging industry in India. Founded in 2012, Oji India has advanced state-of-the-art manufacturing plants in Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat, and Punjab. Oji India's growth strategy arms further action to the existing company with the commissioning of the Sri City facility to capture the increased demand for corrugated packaging products in South India.
Oji India has inaugurated a fresh Sri City plant in India with modern automation technologies. The plant intends to set the benchmark by engineering the most efficient, innovative, and environmentally responsible manufacturing possible. Oji India will produce eco-friendly packaging solutions for multiple industries such as retail, logistics, and food. The plant inauguration was graced by several distinguished guests such as Hiroyuki Isono, the Consul General of Japan in Chennai; Ravindra Sannareddy, the President of Oji Holdings Corporation; and Yoshiyuki Kurahashi, the CEO of Oji India Packaging. This plant will be one of the major suppliers of innovative packaging solutions to South India, thereby aiding in consolidating Oji's position in the market.
In the process, Sri City becomes the second-largest Japanese industrial cluster in India, taking in several investments due to its infrastructure and investment-promoting policies. Oji India is known for sustainable packaging using eco-friendly materials, customizing, and technology to increase production efficiency. It is expected that the new project would create an opportunity for more jobs, growth of manufacturing facilities in the region, and attract more foreign investments. The facility will be strengthened by budgets in the packaging supply chain, which would thus contribute further to industries that count on quality packaging solutions. Investments strengthen the future of Sri City as it becomes a premium industrial destination by attracting international investments further.
