FUJIFILM India, a leading provider of healthcare imaging and diagnostics technology, launched its CSR initiative called 'Care on Wheels' for the Mandi District of Himachal Pradesh. It aims to improve accessibility from the health services standpoint for the villagers residing in remote areas. The project was inaugurated by the Honourable Minister of Health and Welfare, Government of Himachal Pradesh, Dr. (Col) Dhani Ram Shandil. She also included the unique dual delivery model of a static healthcare center coupled with a fully equipped mobile healthcare van for this initiative. It includes checkups requiring an examination for blood counts, analysis for tuberculosis, mobile X-ray diagnostics, and several other important tests that identify 18+ blood profiles for various medical conditions, COPD identification, and tele-consults and teleradiology support by qualified medical professionals. This range of coverage will ensure proactive detection and timely intervention and minimize the burden of diseases in remote communities.FUJIFILM India

Cutting-Edge Technology at the Core

The Care on Wheels Program of FUJIFILM India aims to fulfill unmet medical needs, enhance accessibility to medical services, and facilitate early disease detection and health promotion. The company invests in portable, scalable diagnostic instrumentation to improve the healthcare infrastructure of India. The mobile unit can be replicated in other regions of the country, providing a sustainable and technology-driven answer to healthcare inequity. The program addresses hurdles faced by the rural population such as long-distance travel, lack of transportation, and absence of diagnostic facilities, and eliminates travel hurdles by providing early detection mechanisms, integrating telehealth solutions, and enabling rapid response health diagnostics locally. This initiative ensures that geography is no longer a barrier to health equity.

Bridging the Last Mile in Healthcare

“Care on wheels” is one of the initiatives to make medical care accessible to the rural population in India. By eliminating travel constraints, early detection tools, as well as telehealth solutions, it brings localized, quick-response diagnostic capability into the healthcare system to guarantee that geography does not become a barrier to access for health equity.

Looking Ahead: A Scalable Vision for National Impact

FUJIFILM India is taking its “Care on Wheels” initiative to Mandi to boost rural healthcare in this country. The initiative would be assessed on various aspects, including health outcome data, community response, and operational efficiency. If the project is successful, it may be replicated in other states of India, especially remote ones with challenging topography and scattered populations. It is a model that brings together innovation, access, and social responsibility, and it is starting off in Himachal Pradesh while most of India and the world will be looking on.
