The initiative to boost Internet of Things and 5G capabilities accelerates enhancement and innovation in the technology sector. Sasken Technologies, a specialist in digital transformation and product engineering, is upgrading its offerings by introducing 5G markets and the Internet of Things (IoT) with the acquisition of Borqs International Holding Corp. Sasken announced the acquisition on 8th April following to its official announcement in November 2024 by acquiring its original design manufacturing (ODM) and software services arm of Borqs Technologies Inc.
The partnership between the two strong companies, with Sasken Technologies' strong engineering and R&D foundation and Borqs' precise expertise in Android-based solutions, embedded software, and wireless product development, takes this deal and idea forward in the technology market. The two key players in its technical space achieve the completion of the acquisition in technological space highlights the factors of both the companies, where Sasken Technologies is known for its chip-to-cognition solutions in various sectors like automotive, semiconductors, and telecom and Borqs Technologies is popularly known for its Android based connected devices and IoT software.
The founder and current managing director of Borqs, Hareesh Ramana, joins Sasken’s leadership team. He will further integrate and align Borqs' offering into Sasken’s service portfolio and product.
This innovative additional upgradation will deliver the highest value to the company’s well-being and recognition to be considered as the most approachable service among existing and new customers. It strengthens the company’s capability, enabling it to deliver end-to-end solutions and render advanced services to clients searching for commercialized gen tech-connected products. In alliance with Borq’s efforts and intellectual property, Sasken accelerated its 60*4*3 strategy, focusing on factors like competing in high-growth areas such as semiconductors, consumer electronics, 5G, and IoT.
The evolution will benefit Sasken and its global customers in the U.S, Asia, and Europe with increasing vertical demand for industrial IoT, Automotive, satellite communications, and smart consumer devices. The acquisition further enhanced Sasken’s innovatively designed capabilities in India and China, where around 300 design engineers are under Borqs.
With the acquisition ending on 8th April, after five months of due diligence and strategic planning during the announcement in November 2024 has started with its progress long back. The future builds scalable, customized devices by providing a merged entity, secured and cost-effective solutions in connected devices.
