Aster DM Healthcare announced three life-changing initiatives at the Aster Cancer Conclave 2024 to add value in the arena of cancer care in India. They are Precision Oncology Clinics, the Aster Cancer Grid, and the Onco Collect software directed towards advanced oncology treatment and precision medicine for solid malignancies. A giant stride against cancer is how these have been described.
The precision oncology clinics are the ones that bring personalization to cancer therapies where it is based on the individual's specific genomic profile. The complete methods used by these clinics also include genetic testing and molecular diagnostics to enhance the effectiveness while minimizing the side effects of the treatment. The clinics focus on targeting specific genetic mutations that exist within the cancer cells of every individual, thus improving their treatment efficacy and reducing adverse effects substantially. Onco Collect is a very new software intended to streamline patient data collection through all the Aster Hospitals in Bangalore. One additional advantage of this application is that it purports to standardize patient information, real-time outcomes analysis, and monitoring of the treatment effectiveness by clinicians focusing primarily on optimizing oncology practice. Onco Collect aims towards better planning accuracy in therapies through an advanced software solution and human interface. With this facility, patients will be monitored on a real-time basis on the outcome of treatments, and any necessary amendments in the treatment regimen would be made as required, said Dr. C.N. Patil, Head, of Medical Oncology and Haemat-Oncology, Aster Whitefield Hospital.
