Aster DM Healthcare announced three life-changing initiatives at the Aster Cancer Conclave 2024 to add value in the arena of cancer care in India. They are Precision Oncology Clinics, the Aster Cancer Grid, and the Onco Collect software directed towards advanced oncology treatment and precision medicine for solid malignancies. A giant stride against cancer is how these have been described.
The precision oncology clinics are the ones that bring personalization to cancer therapies where it is based on the individual's specific genomic profile. The complete methods used by these clinics also include genetic testing and molecular diagnostics to enhance the effectiveness while minimizing the side effects of the treatment. The clinics focus on targeting specific genetic mutations that exist within the cancer cells of every individual, thus improving their treatment efficacy and reducing adverse effects substantially. This method is especially effective in dealing with complicated cancers or rare ones. The strength lies in the precision of oncology treatments that are provided to patients. "It is necessary for genetic profiling as an essential part of the new treatment possibilities offered to patients with oncology disorders," said Dr. Somashekhar S.P., Global Director, Aster International Institute of Oncology, while speaking about what accessibility to advanced cancer care would mean domestically.
It makes it a point that all Aster hospitals have a standard care provision in a network called as Aster Cancer Grid. It's made for a better seamless infrastructure not only supporting the clinical trials with collaborative research but also knowledge-sharing among oncologists, institutes, and pharmaceutical companies. Aster Cancer Grid will enhance coordination and communication among healthcare professionals, such as integration with multiple hospitals for more patient data, act as a connector with biotech, pharmaceutical companies, and world research institutions, and bring in joint funding applications, cross-institutional data sharing, and new initiatives in oncology. It would also support multicenter clinical trials and facilitate best clinical practices. With its role in international collaborations, the Aster Cancer Grid is in a position to make India a major hub for cancer research and innovation.
Onco Collect is a very new software intended to streamline patient data collection through all the Aster Hospitals in Bangalore. One additional advantage of this application is that it purports to standardize patient information, real-time outcomes analysis, and monitoring of the treatment effectiveness by clinicians focusing primarily on optimizing oncology practice. Onco Collect aims towards better planning accuracy in therapies through an advanced software solution and human interface. With this facility, patients will be monitored on a real-time basis on the outcome of treatments, and any necessary amendments in the treatment regimen would be made as required, said Dr. C.N. Patil, Head, of Medical Oncology and Haemat-Oncology, Aster Whitefield Hospital.
With the launch of these three initiatives, it is very clear that Aster DM Healthcare believes in placing India on the global map as far as cancer treatment and research are concerned. Dr. Azad Moopen, who is the Founder and Chairman, envisions a platform for oncologists, researchers, and institutions to come together for new, innovative therapies and methods. One such advanced therapies is the Intra-Operative Electron Radiation Therapy at Aster Whitefield. This innovation is intended to improve radiation therapy precision and effectiveness for cancer patients.
The revelations brought forth at the Aster Cancer Conclave 2024 have changed the face of oncology in India. Aster DM Healthcare would provide collaborative research effectiveness through precision medicine and data-driven decision-making for better cancer care access even to the poorest. Improved therapeutic quality of care could hence catapult India towards global leadership in oncology care. Aster DM Healthcare will thus engineer the future of cancer therapeutics by personalized therapies, collaborative networks, and new technology-based approaches which underscore the role of precision medicine and collaborative research in cancer treatment.
